Kelsey Mahan
Director
Kelsey Mahan is the Director of Sapphire ELC, bringing a robust background in education and a deep commitment to student success. A graduate of the University of Montana, where she earned her teaching certificate, Kelsey spent eight years as a middle school English teacher in Stevensville, honing her skills in curriculum development and student engagement.
After a brief break from teaching, Kelsey's commitment to education led her to the Director role at Sapphire ELC, a place she already knew and trusted as a parent. She is eager to contribute her expertise and enthusiasm to the Sapphire ELC community, supporting staff, students, and families in their educational journey.
In her spare time, you can find Kelsey at the river, or on the hiking trails spending time with her husband Brent, daughter Oakley, and two dogs Whiskey and Tank. She is an avid lover of sports (Go Raiders!), cooking and reading.
Ms. Tanni
Hello! I’m Tanni, born and raised in Montana, and a proud mom of three wonderful children and a pup. As a family, we love spending time outdoors and enjoying a variety of activities together. Before becoming a mother, I spent four years in childcare, earning several online certificates and achieving a Level 2 STAR rating. That experience has been invaluable, allowing me to extend my care and love to other children while their parents are hard at work. My favorite color is burnt orange, and I enjoy getting lost in a good mystery or romance novel whenever I can. Working as a teacher at SELC has been both rewarding and educational, helping me grow in compassion, creativity, patience, and empathy, while also strengthening my communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ms. Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley! I’ve spent the last four years working in childcare and love supporting children in their learning and development. I grew up in the Bitterroot Valley and am a proud mom to a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. Our family also includes two dogs, Loki and Charlie.
In my free time, I enjoy making jewelry, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. I’m a big fan of my 107-year-old Mexican grandma’s cooking, sipping on Sprite, and relaxing with the Ugly series whenever I can. Working with children brings me joy every day, and I’m grateful to be part of their growth and discovery.
Ms. Devon
My name is Devon, and I’ve been working in childcare for nine years. I love working with children because every day brings a new adventure and the opportunity to see the world through their eyes.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, fishing, and paddle boarding with my dog. I also love relaxing at home by cooking a good meal or getting lost in a great book.​
Mrs. Shylynn
Hello! My name is Shylynn. I have two years of experience in childcare, along with five years of experience as a CNA. I was born in Missoula and raised right here in Stevensville! I love spending time with my students and watching them learn and grow. I’m passionate about teaching communication skills and encouraging creativity.
I have two kids, two dogs, and one very chunky cat! Our family enjoys spending time together and being outdoors, no matter the season. My favorite color is green, and I love sipping on iced vanilla matcha.
Mrs. Amber
My name is Amber. I was born and raised in Washington and spent my summers in Montana. I moved to Alberton, MT during my junior year of high school and graduated in 2009. I’ve been working in childcare since 2012 and love supporting children as they learn and grow.
I’m married and we have three children, two dogs, and a cat. My favorite colors are purple and black, and I have a special love for sunflowers and the autumn season. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and hiking to natural hot springs.

Hello! I’m Tabitha, also known as Tabby. I have over 12 years of teaching experience, with the past three years focused on preschool education. I am passionate about teaching and love watching my students develop, explore, and discover new concepts. My goal is to create fun and engaging learning environments for every child. I have two teenage boys, and we enjoy spending time outdoors together. My favorite color is teal, and I love photography as well as creating and selling handmade items.
Ms. Avaree
Hi, I’m Avaree! I’m new to the field of child education, but I already know I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Helping children feel safe, happy, and cared for is the best part of my job, and I love bringing smiles and laughter into the classroom each day. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, shopping, and reading books about moral philosophy.

Hi, my name is Lillian! I was born and raised here in Montana, and I’ve always had a passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development. I’ve been in education and childcare for almost two years, and I’m excited to continue training and growing in this field. Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, going on road trips, and exploring new places.
Mrs. Crystal
Hi, I’m Mrs. Crystal, and I love my job working with babies in the infant room. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, but Montana has truly become home. My husband, Miles, and I have a blended family with three daughters, one stepdaughter, nine wonderful grandkids, and a busy household with two dogs and three cats. In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time outdoors.
